Losing to Louisiana-Monroe put Alabama coach Nick Saban in a philosophical mood. In his press conference on Monday, he decided to share some of his musings with the assembled media members. Among them was this little nugget of wisdom:
Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event. It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event.
Saban's point being that, just as America rebounded from 9-11, so will his Alabama Crimson Tide football team come back from being hit right in its twin towers by the hijacked jetliners of Louisiana-Monroe.
I'm telling you, it takes true genius to draw such a brilliant analogy. Obviously Nick Saban is more than a mere college football coach - he has a mind equal to that of the great thinkers of history. Aristotle. Descartes. Nietzsche. Saban's name should be remembered alongside these, if not placed above them.
And as for Alabama's next opponent, the Auburn Tigers - I shudder to think what you have in store for you when Saban unleashes his warriors. It will be just like after Pearl Harbor when the full force of American military might was thrown against the Japanese Empire, ultimately crushing it.
If I were Auburn I would just surrender now, and spare my people the horrors to come. Even as we speak, Saban has his scientists working on an A-bomb, which he will not hesitate to use if he has to.

you got to be kidding me.Saban was out of line, no matter what kind of loss you have you cant compare it to a tradegy such as 9-11 or Pearl Harbor.Saban was pointing fingers after the loss instaed of going down with the ship that he sunk.Saban is overpaid and over-rated in my opinion.
